BADIA KOUDSI, Ph.D.  President

Dr. Koudsi has more than 9 years of experience in the research and development of DLP-based systems, with an emphasis on DLP-based display technologies. Her experience covers all aspects of working with DLP systems, including:

  • •    DLP programming and control, on multiple DLP platforms
  • •    Design and fabrication of PCBs for DLP control and for interfacing with existing DLP boards and computer controllers.
  • •    Illumination and Projection optics design – Dr. Koudsi has extensive experience designing DLP illumination and projection optics. She is proficient with both Sequential and Non-Sequential Ray Tracing methods as well as Physical Optics.

Dr. Koudsi has been integral in pioneering the invention at Optecks of first-of-their-kind technologies for DLP-based applications. She has published more than 5 conference and journal articles on DLP-based design. Dr. Koudsi serves on the program Committee for the Emerging Digital Micromirror Device (DMD) Based Systems and Applications VII conference at Photonics West 2016.

 

HAKKI REFAI, Ph.D.  Chief Technology Officer

Dr. Refai has more than 10 years of experience in the design and development of optical, electronic, and software systems for DLP-based systems. Dr. Refai also has more than 5 years of experience in leading the design, production, and distribution of leading-edge electronic devices. This experience covers a wide range of both the technical and business aspects of DLP-based systems, including:

  • •    Design and assembly of next-generation optomechanical products
  • •    DLP programming and control, on multiple DLP platforms
  • •    Multiple leadership roles, including CTO for a public company and Senior Research Scientist at the University of Oklahoma for DLP-based Projects
  • •    Direct involvement in all aspects of product development – from concept to prototype testing and calibration to coordination of production and distribution

Dr. Refai has authored and coauthored more than 30 conference presentations, journal articles, and magazine articles. He serves as Program committee member for the Emerging Digital Micromirror Device (DMD) Based Systems and Applications VII conference at Photonics West 2016. Dr. Refai is well-versed in applied physics, and can apply advanced physics concepts toward the development of sophisticated DLP-based technologies, including display technologies.
